Za vrijeme trajanja Međunarodne muzeološke ljetne škole u Brnu 1996. godine, održan je i Međunarodni simpozijum s temom "Muzeologija sutrašnjice" (Museology for Tomorrow's World). Koju ulogu će imati muzeologija kao znanost u budućnosti muzeja te problem muzeološkog obrazovanja, okosnice su svih održanih predavanja. Urednik zbornika radova sa simpozija je istaknuti muzeolog Zbynek Z. Stransky. Tekstovi su grupirani u dvije tematske cjeline - Znanost i muzeologija (B. Fajkus, I. Maroević, R. Musil, T. Šola, A. Desvallees, Ž. Laszlo, N. Nickishin, J. Beneš, C. Mueller-Straten, S. Parau, F. Mairesse, K. Hudson) i Muzeološko obrazovanje (J. Šramek, K. Fluegel, I. Maroević, M.R. Schaerer, P. Mayrand, M. Kuzmić, Z.Z. Stransky).
